I LOVE THE NEW BLOG!!  IT IS THE CUTEST THING!  SURE WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD POST ON IT!  I MISS MY FAMILY!

Clark County Fair--2008 (remember these days?)

Well-- as you can see, we had a BLAST at the Clark County Fair this past weekend. Although it didn't start off that way.
We left from home, traveled down to Logandale, NV which is about a an hour drive from where we reside. When we pulled off the Interstate, the fairgrounds were about a 10-minute drive; however, it took us an hour. The traffic was herendous and not all of the people were going to the fair. I was ridiculous, it was hot and I am impatient. Not a good mixture. But, we held out and in the end it was worth it--sord of.
We first went and looked at all the animals. Ben is an animal nut--and he loved the cows, pigs, bunnies, goats and such--but the roosters freaked him out. They kept crowing-- which scared him--heck, it scared me!
Then we went and grabbed some dinner. Ben and I were starved and Coby was filming all the food vendors for ideas. Finally, I was overtaken by the smell of BBQ, so that's what we ate. It was OK--but, I have had a LOT better (can we say BBQ Street).
We then headed over to listen to a band that played Beach Boys songs--apparently the same band Coby remembers when he used to come to the fair. They were excellent--but, I am still not sure how some men can sing higher than me. Oh well.
We then went over to check out the rides-- the only trick was, we either rode alone (cause someone has to watch Ben) or not at all. We decided to just let Ben ride some rides. We put him on a Jeep--which was heaven for him. He played on there and was having a blast until the ride started. He got freaked out from all the lights (we think) and didn't want to go on it anymore. We took him over to the marry-go-round--thinking that riding with Dad by him would make all the difference. He loved sitting on the horse and holding on to the golden pole, but as soon as it started going around and he was going up and down---plus all the lights--- he flipped out. Luckily the ride was almost over, so he did fine for most of it. Then we tried one last time and put him in a little doggie--thinking he would love sitting in a doggie with a steering wheel. He didn't. He was balling before it even started--- but, it was his bedtime, too. He ran around all the way out of the fair and crashed soon after we got on the road.
On Sunday, Coby and I made homemade pizza. I bought a pizza kit, thinking it would be a fun little family event on a Sunday afternoon, after church. Well, Coby helped put oil on the dough and that was about it. I didn't have a pizza pan, so I improvised and made the crust rectangle and pinched up the sides to contain the sauce. I added a ton of cheese and extra pepperois and it turned out delicious. (Although, I wasn't a fan of the crust, so that part needs some work).
Well--- hope you've enjoyed our little journey to the Clark County Fair. It was so fun to have been see and touch all the animals, see farm life and just make more family memories!!

Prayers & faith please...

So, we have a really great possible job lead for Coby. It's back in Georgia and would be perfect for him and if he got it, would be perfect for our family.

I know that it would mean another family moves away from St. George-- but, we've been praying, fasting, doing all we can do for the past two years for the right opportunity and we are having faith that this is it. We hope that each of you can keep the faith with us and keep us in your prayers.

It would be incredibly hard to leave all of my family and my few friends here in St. George-- but, it would be a blessing to be around my family and revitalize my missionary work with them.

We should know soon when he'll be meeting with his prospective boss and we'll be sure to keep everyone posted as we hope that this trial is about to pass.

We love each of you and hope that everyone is happy!!

It's fun to hear of the great success of Ashley's blog business, Joe's happy new job, Tyler's home (for good) from the islands, Jeff and Terra doing very well and bringing in another cute baby into the family, Sara & Eric thriving in Montana and Laura & Josh plugging their way through the battles of higher education in beautiful North Carolina. You each inspire me and Coby!!

Anyone up for a BBQ?!?!

Eric's sister and her family have a few vacation rental properties around Big Fork and Flathead lake.  About two weeks ago, Eric told me that the condo was available and we were going up there to stay for the weekend.  I was so excited! It was a sunny weekend, the first one in awhile.  We went on a few bike rides and spent Sunday with his two sisters and one brother that live up in that area.  It was fun getting out of Missoula and catching a breath of fresh air.  So that got me all pumped up for spring. I was thinking, Yippee!  no more cold gray snow.  Well I woke up this morning with 2 1/2 inches of snow on the ground.  It would be such a big deal, but check out the date!  It is flipping March 27th!   Everyone has told me the winters are long, but come on!  Looks like nice warm sunny weather in St. George!  Here is a picture of Eric and I on the deck of the condo.  That is one big river in our backyard.  It is so beautiful though.  The other picture is of Eric on the threshold of our dream home.  It is a cabin our bro in law is restoring to use as another rental property.  So much fun!  Talk to ya'll soon! I took Tyler and the girls' pictures yesterday and they are just adorable. I will post more pictures later, but this was our favorite of the girls by far. What better picture than to be sitting on a slide with your two precious princesses??

OK, I am officially putting the AZ Hunts, Laura and Josh and Jeff and Terra in Time Out!! I looked over the past posts on our FAMILY blog and noticed it was only Sara and I posting. So either you get your butts in gear and get to posting or we change this blog to the MT Hunts/Washington Hunts blog.
I hope that you know I am mostly teasing, but I do miss seeing updates on everyone.
Hopefully this will jump start the posting again so we can all read about what everyone's up to in our busy, crazy lives!
I hope that with the warmer weather looming, all the adventures of the Hunts will make it to the blog.

Happy Birthday Eric!

So today, February 29th, my husband turned 28 on his 7th birthday!  He is growing up so fast!  This is actually the first "really real birthday" i have celebrated with him, so I wanted to do something fun.  We had about 14 friends meet us at Pizza Hut for dinner and then a few of us went bowling.  It was really fun.  Eric got a few really cool things that he liked and had his traditional German Chocolate cake with homemade frosting.  I didn't come close to making it as good as his moms, but he said it tasted great, and so that made it all right.  I got him  balloons for each birthday he has had and we displayed those at dinner.  For more pics, have a look at our blog.

Kudos to Randi...

Last Friday, Randi was awarded Outstanding Elementary Music Educator for 2007-2008 year in Utah. I was surprised that she didn't tell anyone about this, but was grateful that I was able to make it. Steve had called from his work to see if I could go take pictures in case he didn't make it in time. He surprised Randi with his trip up and I was wishing I had called the Davenport kids. It so awesome to be in the family of such a wonderful educator of young minds--especially with music.
Way to go Randi!!! Hope Steve took you out for a really nice dinner!!

So this mug shot is not as funny as the other one I posted, but it is funny none the less. What is up with these kids and their clever sayings for their mug shots? I find it quite entertaining!

Free tax filing...

This is just a quick note for everyone as we should all have our W2 forms in hand, ready to file our taxes. On the IRS Web site, there's a link to companies who provide free federal tax filing as long as you meet their income and age standards. There are several companies to choose from and last year we used H&R Block. It was very simple and we had our refund direct deposit which came within just a couple of weeks. You can also access your taxes on their site for three years--the time frame in which an audit can take place.
Hope this helps some of you this year!!
PS- They also will transfer your information over automatically to e-file your state taxes, but to file those, you have to pay (but it's so worth it!!)

The Dixie Rock--

Dixie Rock-- This is a slide show of our recent trip to the Dixie Rock. It was my first time going and all I can say is-- it's really high. What was even funnier is that Coby and I switched rolls as being chicken of heights. He hates man-made heights such as airplanes, rollercoasters and the Eifel Tower in Las Vegas and I thrive on them. On the other hand, he loves climbing rocks and I was a nervous wreck the entire time we were up there. When I sat on the rock watching cars go by with Ben, it was more for my comfort than anything. The climb down was on my butt. I have lost several battles with Mother Nature, that's why when it's her vs. me-- I usually lose.

Snow Canyon State Park--

We had a blast at Snow Canyon State Park. We went on Saturday, which turned out to be picture perfect. It was my first time driving through and I found a spot for us to go camping this summer. Ben's old enough and we'll be close enough to home if anything goes wrong. It's so gorgeous through there... a little piece of heaven just far enough out of town. I can't wait till we go hiking in there and go back for more fun in the sand dunes. Coby told me this is where the family came every Easter, so perhaps we'll have an Easter egg hunt there this year to carry on a family tradition. Southern Utah is just majestic. I never thought I would love all the redness after growing up around all green--but, it is its own unique beauty. I look forward to exploring Zion National Park this spring!

Jill, This one is for you!

for date night, we decided to go to Fuddruckers for dinner.  It was so yummy!  This of course, made me think of jill, as we had talked about this on the way to Enterprise!  So yummy!  I hope this works as a good selling point!

Hello out there...

No, this isn't Photoshopped or trick-photography...this is how Ben prefers to sleep. He's a nut. I have no clue what we did while he was a baby to have him sleep like this, but it sure makes for some funny pictures. He has to kick against the crib before falling asleep-- it's a comfort thing for him and we've learned to tune it out. It'll last for a few minutes until he drifts off to sleep. I guess it's a better comfort-habit than giving him a sippee and ruining his teeth. However, this was the funniest I have ever seen him.

On another note-- Sara and Terra...could you send pics from snowy Enterprise?? Gracious!!

thought ya'll might enjoy a laugh!

So, I like to keep ties to St. George sometimes. So one of the things I do, is go to washeriff.net and look at people who have been arrested. When you go to the website, you click on bookings and you can see everybody's mugshots. I have seen some pretty sad/funny/interesting/crazy pictures on there. This is one I saw a few months ago and couldn't stop laughing. In case you can't see it his shirt says, "Every great idea I have gets me in trouble" Hows that for irony?
